Season History
This year is YBT’s 32nd season of bringing dance programs to the Yuma Community. Yuma
Ballet Theatre thanks Yuma for keeping the art and us in your hearts.
Yuma Ballet Theatre and performing arts company inc., Yuma’s original performing arts
company was established in 1979. Yuma Ballet Theatre remains strongly committed to our mission of encouraging and promoting the excellence of dance in Yuma and Arizona by nurturing the highest artistic and moral values in our dancers. Our philosophy-to train and develop gifted dancers, to showcase and support the work of emerging and established choreography, to bring dance and dance education to residents of Yuma and the surrounding area, and to fortify the artistic community of Yuma County through partnerships and resource sharing with other art groups within our rural area.
The company was founded by Linda Cannon Farrar, Nell Fuson Hacker, and Thomas B.
French. They realized that a growing population of serious dance students would benefit from
the opportunity to improve their technical skills and allow them to express their virtuosity in
classical and modern works.
